Do you know if that soldier was assessed before being sent again?
Evidently there should be some form of assessment, knowing what we know of post-traumatic stress.
Maybe the practice of assessing exists, is well-established but isn't efficient enough or they thought he could bear with what he'd be exposed to over there, even if he had been found slightly unfit.
I'm for time limits, which would decrease for soldiers found unfit for duty.
I suppose such a thing exists but we've heard about post-traumatic stress among many soldiers. They don't always get a discharge.
Are they not being screened correctly or are some of them deliberately sent back even if they are troubled but can still function- abeit not without problems?
Or both?
In any case, a fit soldier should be able to serve as long as he or she is fit. I would suppose, anyway...
admittedly I haven't given this enough thought...
